Running. Before or after lifting for that extra fat burn? I often run a mile for a warm up, lift, then run for 25 minutes of HIIT. A guy at the gym suggested a 5 min warm up, lift then 40min of HIIT in a row as opposed to my warm up mile. I tried his suggestion and while the cardio was difficult I felt that the lifting wasn't as difficult as it normally was. which is better? I google and get mixed results.

  • Lift first, do cardio either at another time during the day or after lifting. You want to use your energy when it matters (lifting). You can do a warm up for a few minutes with cardio if you want to get your heart rate up prior to lifting if you want.
