I'd say most of Shakespeare's stories have become cliche only because the framework of them have been reused so many times in modern stories. I like the Tempest, it's often overlooked compared to his other work.

I personally felt the tempest was the most cliche of all of them, even for its time... I do agree though, but hey, good literature is endlessly quote able!
