Similar to what Angryjoe said, I'm pretty much done taking this project seriously anymore. If they surprise me and it turns out to be good, fantastic. If it ends up being a complete joke like I'm expecting, at least I won't be let down. Either way is fine with me now. I've accepted the circumstances.

  • Yeah, I'm pretty much done here. This project had a lot of potential, but Warner refuses to give fans what they want, because they're so busy "reconstructing" all of the characters. They're trying to give us something that's just a little too new.

  • Pissed-off Pedro is still just butthurt that Superman is going to get schooled by Batman.

i don't think it's that, especially considering the way that snyder and goyer have both said that batman has no chance in a realistic, non contrived fight [and i'm fairly certain that means the movie will go out of its way to show that batman's victory, if he has any, will be something extremely... out of the ordinary]. it's more that he hates batman's actual presence in a superman sequel. i get what he's saying, but i honestly disagree and have to say that batman would be an excellent element to bring into a man of steel sequel.

  •
have to say that batman would be an excellent element to bring into a man of steel sequel.
Batman/Superman stories are usually the best stories if done right.

yeah, but they're even better in the man of steel universe. considering you have the "old and wise" batfleck juxtaposed against the "i'm here to help, but it has to be on my own terms" cavillsupes...

  • Still hoping we get a training montage, so Supes actually knows how to fight. Because you know, he was trained ON A FARM.

  • So what, MOS2 be like the worlds finest, where they're not really fans but seem to become some form of buddies at the end, and a little hint to teaming up in the future? Like in the demon reborn of Superman TAS

    A) absolutely. man that would kick so much a$$... B) dc films have always been considered to revolve around "bigger" ideas. given man of steel's themes about choice and absurdity and the whole "the republic"/brave new world allegories with krypton, it'd be natural for the justice league to be predicated on the power of conflicting ideals.

  • And who has more conflicting ideals, a yin yang of sorts, than Superman and Batman? Oh yeah and ofc Barry, Hal, WW and whoever else will be apart of Justice League. And mentioning Barry, you'll think they combine his show with the DCU? If they do, then that means ARROW WOULD BE CANON!
And speaking of arrow... :P
• He only hates it because they introduced it with the TDKR quote from Batman wrecking Supes which made him assume they were doing that, and he's not said anything to the contrary since. Bottom line is he's a pissed off Superman fanboy because he wanted Iron Man 2, not The Avengers.

  • lol no. I'd kill for a Justice League movie more than anything, I just want to see it done right as opposed to half assingly cramming as much characters as they can into the second instalment of the cinematic universe. The Avengers only worked because they allowed each individual character to flourish and develop. Not fisting as much content down the film just for the shekels. Sure is getting Goy in here.

I'm a possible future consumer and an audience member. It has a little to do with me and a certain demographic of fans with similar interests.
He only hates it because they introduced it with the TDKR quote from Batman wrecking Supes which made him assume they were doing that, and he's not said anything to the contrary since.
and they had frank miller working on it. thankfully i haven't heard a peep out of miller since the day his name was dropped.
because he wanted Iron Man 2, not The Avengers.
to be fair, the avengers would be a pretty stupid sequel to the first iron man.

  •
to be fair, the avengers would be a pretty stupid sequel to the first iron man.
That's not really fair, because if it was the direct followup then it would have been presented differently, like BvS will be. My bets are it's being reworked into a Trinity movie instead with Superman, Batman, and Wondie to better fast track their Justice League movie. So it's more like Joe wanted Man of Steel 2 and instead he's getting DC: Trinity and he's gone all Raging Rodriguez because he feels entitled to a new Superman solo film because it's the "sequel," to a Superman film. But it's only a sequel in the same sense that Avengers is a sequel to Thor or Captain America.

of course, i didn't mean the actual avengers movie you silly thing. i simply meant the ridiculous abundance of characters without any backstory. i wanted a batman vs. superman film. no trinity, no green lantern, or flash, or whatever. just plain old bats, supes, and lex duking it out. i'm not concluding anything about the project, but there's just this unshakeable feeling of skepticism because of the development troubles and all the new characters...

... not really? i'm absolutely open to a quasi-jl movie if they can pull it off. my problem isn't that it deviates from the vision i had for it. my problem is that it seems fairly impossible to pull off.

  •
my problem is that it seems fairly impossible to pull off.
And that is your problem in that it's a problem of your perception/imagination entirely.
