I'd start off by explaining the presence of social media in the lives of kids and adults today vs how it used to be. Don't idealize the past though. Another important thing is to offer a concise explanation of social media, a lot of PC illiterates may think Twitter and Blogger are the same thing, so take them into account. Also, you'll want to get are some good sources for studies on the effects of social media, some of these are good: http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&q=effects+of+social+media&btnG=&as_sdt=1%2C33&as_sdtp= You should title it 'Social Media and Its Effects'

Then do it yourself. No one here can help introduce an essay when we have no idea what you're going to be talking about, who and what you're going to be referencing and the conclusions you're going to make from those references.

1 ReplyA good title would be Social Media?
-
3 RepliesA good introduction could use an anecdote about how much time people spend on Facebook or any social medias like that (including yourself, self-image). As for an interesting title, I guess you use something like "The 'Social' in Social Media", but I'm not good at titles, so apologies if it isn't helpful.
