Anything after the first arc has cringelevels off the charts.

This. I wish they just would have stayed inside SAO and finished the series that way instead of making another arc.

The plot holes are just too big to ignore. Why didn't Kirito just tell Asuna's dad about his employee keeping his daughter hostage? Why didn't Asuna just wait until the slime guys leave before logging out? Where did the barkeep get the picture of Asuna in the tree? How come none of Kirito's really high stats help him in Alfhiem Online?

Arc 2 really ruined her and any possibility of her being a strong female lead. 3) Screenshot posted by the five people that tried to fly off of each other. 4) I think they did a little bit. Plus, at the beginning of the ALO arc, Kirito learned that ALO was more based on individual skill + physical ability over stats.
But if he was so severely under leveled that he couldn't get past the World Tree entrance, how was he able to kill an entire team of strong players and their clan leader by himself?
-
What do you mean underleveled? There were literally thousands of them! And it took two of the biggest alliances of people to get a single person through! How was he supposed to do it himself even if he was a very high level? o.0

Because the guy that wrote the story was still in junior high when a wrote it.
-
Ah... that explains the horrendously written ero scene in the original novel.

Edited by Elrond Hubbard: 2/1/2014 12:17:35 AMHow come
the government didn't outlaw and dismantle NerveGear technology? And more importantly, who would even use it or develop games for it after the SAO incident?
-
Edited by DELIVER ME MEMES: 2/1/2014 12:12:07 AMyes spoilers please, but what happened to the guy who created SAO and held people hostage? you'd think that they'd arrest him for microwaving people's brains. also, they're making another arc.
-
It seems like if he was also in SAO for two years, that would have been plenty of time for the authorities to find him. But considering they didn't even outlaw the NerveGear, I doubt they're even able to pour their own coffee.
-
did they at least remove the death traps? dying IRL headsets are pretty stupid.
-
They did, but
the new ones allow the admin to basically mind control/rewrite the memories of the players.
-
Well just because one game was screwed up doesn't mean they can't restrict what the NerveGear can do afterwards and give people more security when playing. I'm just surprised people weren't as hesitant to get back into NerveGear games, especially since ALO is based off the original engine of SAO.

Edited by Elrond Hubbard: 2/1/2014 12:44:02 AMTrue, but I'd think the horror of it would scare people off. Unless they're actually jealous and wish their own gaming experiences had ridiculously high stakes. You never know...
