"I go to a site with very strict moderation and challenge the rules. Then I come back to B.net and complain while only ever telling half the story. Waypoint mods suck eggs because I can't say whatever I want without repercussions."

Grow up, you guys. Don't go over there if you don't agree with how the site is run. Don't come back here and bitch if you get banned, it's sad. Y'all's butthurt is showing again.

Already explained both of my unfair bans in detail in this thread. It's hard to "challenge the rules" when the rules change depending on if the moderator knows you and what mood they're in. I've explained how they ban people because they feel like it and if the post might touch the border of breaking the rules, I've also explained how they ignore obvious flame-bait and treat it as legitimate discussion while actual legit discussion gets locked/deleted. I have another member in here who was banned for saying and sternly defending his opinion. You want a full story, I can go post every link to you if you want them. Their moderators are dumb, I don't care if I'm "butthurt" or not, when something is wrong it should be acknowledged and addressed.

There is nothing wrong with the moderation on that site. Simply don't go there and your perceived problem is fixed. Don't want to be held against your will in a foreign country? Don't go to a hostile foreign country. Don't want to get robbed? Don't leave all your valuables on the front seat of your unlocked car in a neighborhood with a high crime rate. Don't want to get banned on the Waypoint forums? Don't go to the waypoint forums. I have a hard time believing your story because of the sheer amount of your peers that come running over here bitching about the mods, when they are, in fact, well-known for being half-rate trolls and they deserve their bans. Sorry, bub. It's a strict community and it is entirely optional to go there.
-
If you don't think their police state moderation is strict ask for the banned lists and reason for then. Check the member count an how many are alts or real accounts. The post a vote on every other forum about how the mods are there. If its not enough frankie would rather go on neogaf.
-
You don't think there's anything wrong with the moderation? Well, from personal experience and the some of the people I've talked to here, evidence points in the other direction. And no, not all the posters that agree are trolls. When the only option to not get banned from Waypoint is to not go to Waypoint, that should tell you there is a problem. I've spent a lot of time on that site, and I've seen good people get fed up and lose their shit then get banned for it. I've also seen people get banned for arbitrary and sometimes moronic reasons. There most certainly is a problem, and if you feel inclined to deny it, then good for you. However, I'd prefer to confront this problem rather than say, "Well, guess I'm done using the website" like so many others have.

So, if it is as broken as you like to think it is. How exactly do you plan to fix it, Bob? Because in your comparison it'd be like staging a peaceful demonstration in North Korea. You'll just end up banned and no one will care. Besides, it's not broken, the mods use arbitrary reasoning because justice shouldn't be blind.
-
What how can it be justified if it is biased against competetive players?
-
What do you mean?
-
Competetive players always get banned. However if someone purposely called out a competetive player I have seen it time and time again go unnoticed.
-
Well, I can see that. Most of the competitive players are douchebags.
-
Edited by Deleted User: 2/3/2014 3:07:20 PMWithin reason there are douchebags everywhere. There are asshole cops, firemen, doctors, and lawyers. There are asshole casuals as well and at the end of the day if you are Competetive and make it known you will be banned. But if a casual were to say hurr durr stupid mlg fags no ban. Which shows me the mod team there are very biased children who have a deep hatred for mlg and the top players of the games they play based on their own experiences. However, people like that should never be placed into a position of power because they bend the rules to fit their views not stay neutral to both sides. And thats why you would never see someone like moa tssassi or snickerdoodle as an officer, judge or any administrative or legal position.
-
So, would you suggest our moderation system in the Waypoint forums?
-
No, a more lay back approach like 4chan minus adult appropriate topics keep it pg.
-
I can see the contrast then. I personally prefer maybe a stricter version of ours, along with the ability to self-moderate. Seems to work ok.
-
Agreed, but until bs angel is thrown out of administration because she clearly cant handle the position I find it highly unlikely.
-
How would I fix it? By bringing the attention to the few reasonable moderators there that some of them are acting irrational. If that doesn't do anything, then oh well, at least I tried. The forums can continue to go into a deeper wasteland as fewer people go there because of the stern moderating, and the mods and the few people they keep left can be glad they turned a public forum into a private group for themselves.
Besides, it's not broken, the mods use arbitrary reasoning because justice shouldn't be blind.
So, they should be able to make up whatever reasoning they want for their actions? That doesn't sound like justice to me.

Well, quite clearly the "problem" has been presented to the mods and they are all in firm agreement that they are acting reasonably within the confines of their sites laws and conduct codes. One of the mods doesn't even like 343, and I've seen him post on here how it's BS that they ban for "anti-343 speech" and how those bans are for people mocking/ridiculing 343. Also, you posted in a thread where the OP got banned, so it was a "carpet ban" situation, obviously.
