Is capitalism dying? Is America proof of this?
-
Corporatism is causing the fall of the American economy not capitalism.
-
Not at all. America hasn't had real capitalism since 1912. (As well as a free market) Government intervention has proven to be the problem.

7 RepliesBecause this is the worst that the American economy has ever been? Oh, wait. I seem to remember a period of time lasting from the late 20s and through most of the 30s. I hear it was a pretty great dip in the American economy, you could even call it a depression. I'm pretty sure that was way worse.

Edited by Ad Hoc: 1/13/2014 10:33:49 PMIt's proof that Capitalism fails when it isn't properly regulated. The political pendulum has been leaning to the far Right since Reagan was elected. Look where that got us. It's slowly but surely moving back to the left, but it's going to take some time to heal the damage caused by Supply-Side, Trickle Down, Reaganomics, etc, etc.

4 Replies>American Economy >Capitalism Pick one.

Edited by Pukajlo: 1/13/2014 10:04:48 PMAmerica is proof that governments are horrible at spending money wisely. Our economy is still the strongest in the world. Doesn't sound like it's failing. Capitalism isn't perfect, but it's far above the alternatives.

4 RepliesIt's not capitalisms fault (I'll get a lot of crap for this) it's the freaking war that just ended and Obama. Yes Obama. Come at me libs.

US GDP is trending up. Markets are trending up. The dollar is trending up. So to answer your question, no.

3 RepliesEdited by AnAverageGamer: 1/13/2014 2:13:29 AMAre you, Exiled Girl, and Banned Sparkles the same person? All 3 of you spam tons of threads with some sort of subject matter that generates a lot of replies (in your, and Sparkle's case political stuff and in Girl's case how she is feeling) and then practically never reply to anything in them.

2 RepliesEdited by IngloriousWho98: 1/13/2014 5:07:24 AMNah We'll come back...we have to It's funny because we take a little dip and everyone starts to freak out and all of the sudden the government is a corrupt and failed system lol
-
lolno Capitalism has been dead in America since 1913. And even then, most politicians were bought by corporations.
-
Edited by o_____________o: 1/13/2014 4:32:29 PMThe economy is dying because the government made very poor investments.
-
3 RepliesGoing to resist the urge to bite. In any way, shape, or form.
-
3 RepliesNot at all. All American industry was just moved to China just so a few greedy corporate executives could hire cheaper labor.
-
Capitalism has always been horrible.

Edited by M37h3w3: 1/13/2014 2:13:11 AMGiven how other capitalist nations aren't going under? It's proof that corporations -blam!- the nation over if they are left to stick their hands in the cookie jar (buy politicians and write their own rules to their benefit.)
-
Except we're only part capitalist.
-
Or maybe because bailing out the banks was a -blam!-ing genius idea.

It's better to have a mix of both worlds. Full blown "Communism" as what many people think in this forum doesn't work due to human nature, but full blown "Capitalism" doesn't work as well due to human nature. Mix both together, and even with the human nature factor, it's lessens the bow.

Not realy the economy is not as good as it use to be but still better than many countries
