I never got the "pretend to be transgender" argument. Why would someone pretend to be something that *most of the time from my knowledge* receives far more hate than the lesbians, bisexuals and the gays? I'm not sure anyone would be stupid enough to do that and if they did then the discomfort they would likely experience would cancel out whatever weird satisfaction they got from doing so. Either way, not going to bother making an essay on here. Not even worth it. People should just treat other people like people.

  • I don't even need to pretend. I am a lesbian trapped in a male body. I should be allowed in the female bathroom and on the female sports teams because I don't feel comfortable in and on the male ones.

  • If I can get a free college education out of it, I'd do it.

  • Negative attention is still attention. Plus then they can feel like a part of the Tumblr circlejerk.

  • Some people have no shame and care not what others think, so it is definitely something that could and does happen. Some women are pretty accepting of transgenders, so it makes sense for a sociopath to pretend to be transgender and then get her alone and do his thing. There are much less severe scenarios, but a lot of people are twisted in the head. Also, transgender is all in your head anyway, so go see a therapist.

  • I'll bite. Those that genuinely don't care what others think are extremely rare. People who would do that sort of thing need like minded people around them so that their actions can be acknowledge and they can feel like they are accomplishing something. A real, genuine sociopath is pretty rare. As far as women being accepting of them, I suppose I'll use a "guy" at my school as an example. He is transgender and comes into school wearing tights, a skirt and whatever. Almost every girl is accepting of it and finds it interesting but that's all they do. They have no real desire to become close with or properly befriend "him". Therefore, based on these observations I think a sociopath would have his work cut out a lot of the time. As for transgender being all in the head, isn't all that a person really is in the head? There are some things that can be changed and some things that can't if you want to remain "you". If people are to go to therapy to have things "fixed" when those things are basically their identity and what they feel then I would say that's akin to just repressing your identity which many transgenders feel they have had to do for many years before coming out and admitting it to others and in most cases, themselves. If a man feels he is a woman inside, as it were, then I say allow "him" to be. Likewise for women feeling like a man inside. It's much the same for lesbians and gays. Except that those identifications don't tend to affect how they look or dress. Only who they partner with. So then, are you of the opinion that lesbians, gays and bisexuals, who I've left out of this because it'd get repetitive, identities are all in their heads and therefore should be removed (repressed) by therapy, even when people feel as if it is what they wish to identify and do identify as?
