So we have Salute and Point. Point is actually a good emote. Especially for players not using mics and headsets. Let alone being able to use that to coordinate movement and tactics. Salute is sorta like Dance in being a nice sorta social qwerk. Players will be creative with these two emotes in alternative fashions that Bungie hasn't envisioned for their uses. Wave is great social and tactical emote. You can signal you're ready to engage the enemy or to look at this thing I found. I'd like to see some sort of Yes or No emote. It's a basic communication emote so various players from differing cultures and languages can instantly grasp when pairing up with other differing players. So how does one do that? What universal gestures can be latched onto to convey No and Yes. You come to branching corridor and here you are with this other non talking player. Both of you are on the same quest and for one reason or other you're doing great together slugging through the Ai. Well you can wave and you can dance and players will use these in place of yes or no. Point would be a good yes. Go that way. The other player would need a No. So maybe that little hand shake wave like no man bad mumbo jumbo down that hole. Maybe the no head shake. A middle finger. You know real basic animal No way retort. The other player could turn and point the other way. How will you non verbally communicate with a potential teammate when it might really matter? Bungie is going to place low level player's up against powerful high leveled enemy. So communication is going to be crucial fairly quick out there.
