Alright guys, here is a rather controversial topic for you to discuss. Designing one's own baby. That's right, the technology and genetic research to modify your baby before birth is nearing reality. Genes that influence gender, disease inheritance, and even physical/mental capability can be selected by parents. Want the perfect aryan child? Go ahead. At first, the ability to adjust traits might be limited and not always guaranteed, but who's to say what the future holds?
So, what is your take on this? Should designing babies be legal? Should it be limited to certain traits such as inheritance of cancer?
In my opinion, this is the future. For a period of time there may be a division between upper class (designed babies) and lower class (regular babies), and it will be rough. However, with time, maybe every human could afford to enhance their babies, and the entire human race would reap the benefits.

1 ReplyPretty sure everyone would modify their child to be a incredibly perfect version of themselves. Because that's all parenting is... Making a better "you". Nobody wants their child to just be "normal" everyone wants their child to be a millionaire playboy, philanthropist, astronaut, nobel prize winning, physicist. Everyone is just lying if they're saying that they just wanna be second best.
