That was interesting. I must say though... while I don't have a problem with having chat only with your fireteam by default, I don't like the sound of having to rely on platform specific chat options for getting more of your teammates in. Party chat has already made the lobbies of same games extremely quiet, and putting that extra barrier between chatting with the rest of your teammates will only make it worse. If you could just push a button to switch from "fireteam" to "team" for chat, that would be cool. But the idea of needing to go into your system menu, start up a party chat, invite the people you want, and wait for them to accept the invite, and then needing to do that every team you enter a multiplayer match? What a pain. Nobody will want to go through that and it's going to be really damn quiet.
Nobody will want to go through that and it's going to be really damn quiet.
I'd rather have quiet than having 6 children making fart noises during the game IMO. this way I can choose who I hear in game the next time around.

That's why I say I still like that the default option is to keep to yourself. So if it turns out your teammates are a bunch of unsavory characters, you can just stay in party chat. But what if they turn out to be decent people to play with? Well, we'll never know, because most people won't want to go through all the rigamarole to set up a party chat on the possibility that they'll enjoy it. On the other hand, if it's as simple as pressing a button in-game to switch from one chat to another, then it will make the community much more open and social.

There may b opportunities for that in the city. When we're not in battle
