Does anyone know if for destiny, or for the beta, if Xbox 360 players will be able to play with Xbox One players? Or the same for PS3 and PS4? I don't expect the PS4/Xbox One crossover because I know with today's society, the gaming industry can't just agree and make cross system things.
Honestly, I feel like the (real) gaming community wouldn't care if it's Xbox or PlayStation as long as they can play with their friends and everyone is on their preferred console. I mean, if people complain about "I don't want to play with them, they're a Sony/Microsoft fan", then they have no business playing games in the first place, because they aren't doing it for the right reasons. I'll be an Xbox buyer forever just due to Halo, because I've always played it.
I mean, Video Games truly are a beautiful thing. An expression. An art form. Video games have become today's form of storytelling. It was at first spoken word, then playwright, then books, TV/Movies, and now the era of games has come. Not only is it today's story telling, but it's so much more in depth then the previous art forms. I say this because it is the one art form that has incorporated so many others. For example, I play Halo a lot. Always have, always will. Ever since it came out when I was five, I've loved it. Not only is the game it's own individual story, there are books about it, movies, clips, secrets. I've heard aspects of it through spoken word. Games have such a heavy influence on us story-wise that each game evolves from a series where "what you see is what you get" like other forms, and becomes an entire universe with non-essential information, back stories, off topic stories that take place in the same universe, and are barley related. Games go that extra step that movies and things don't, where you have this entire database of unlimited information about this one thing. And it's so easy to fall in love with, it's no wonder why there are so many gamers out there today that have ideas on how to improve games, inspire new ones, and make yet another story that you can't get enough of that will, in turn, give the same inspiration to someone else.
The age of games is upon us, and the major companies like Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo are hindering it's self-evolution by doing something as simple as not cooperating with each other, and all to make some money. It's interesting how an object can make people so ignorant to each other.
This totally turned into a rant, and if you stuck with my tangential typing up until this point, then congrats, and thank you. I also hope someone can answer my question.
Still, the "Console wars" interest me. Peace is easy, you just have to learn to give up the things that get in the way.
