Perhaps you've thought about the fact that everything in our solarsystem is basicly stardust. Even you. You are a piece of stardust walking around on a ball of stardust. But our sun is part of the galaxy hence you are too. If you let your imagination grasp the concept of you being one with everything you'll start seeing that consciousness is also a part of the universe. Consciousness is not a biproduct of biology no more than leaves are biproducts of the tree. Consciousness permeates creation and it is manifested in, but not limited to, biology.
