I think the halo universe is expanding way too much and way too fast with these books and written lore. I feel like I will no longer understand properly any of the story when future Halo games come out. Too many sequels and prequels and in between with all these stories going off in different directions, it feels very cluttered and messy.

I feel the same way, buddy.

If anything it needs to expand faster.

No it's not. We're going forward from here. The last prequel was the Forerunner Trilogy.

Edited by adamj004: 11/17/2013 9:14:11 PMI know but I have a feeling the games won't feel like the front line of the story (even though are and will be) It just feels to me now if you don't read the books you're not gonna understand any future games. I know they can't tell everything through the games and they have to expand into novels but I feel like I can't expect anymore mystery of the forerunners to unfold in the games because it's all been told through books. If feel too much of the forerunners history was reveal in the books, I think they should have left a good part of it for the games to tell. I dunno maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way, maybe I need to get into it more but I just can't keep up with it all anymore. I'm not hating or bashing it or anything. It's just when I think about it I didn't need to read any of the bungie era books to get the first trilogy but I am concerned I will need read the new ones to get the next trilogy.

Halo 4-6 focus on Chief. If you want to get the wider picture, read the EU. Otherwise you'll be fine. I'd hate to say it, but a truce between the Brutes and Elites won't affect much in Halo 5 unless the Precursors return.

Shits going down if they return on a small scale, space and time itself will yield if they return on a big scale.
