Generally videos do this, they look good on your desktop but uploading them makes them look slightly worse. That's why downloading videos improve their quality. What editing software are you using and what are you uploading it to in youtube? Did you make sure when you saved the video that it was the highest quality format it would go?

Yes I had, I've experimented with multiple formats. It's only in the last week that this has happened everything before was perfectly find until they updated the google + thing :o not sure if it's related. I usually use Sony AVC .mp4 at 1920 by 1080, which is also the frame size I record in, but no matter if I do Main concept AAC/AVC at the same settings it turns out prestine on my computer but on youtube it looks like it's at 480p :/ I use Sony Vegas Pro 10.0E since it's generally easier to work with (I prefer it to final cut) and it's been fine for the past few years, I guess it's a problem on youtube's end/

I think it is youtube, It's showing up the options for HD quality on youtube so It's obviously not you just messing up on the quality, your videos should be 1080p. I haven't uploaded on youtube after this new google+ system so id assume that's the problem as you said. good luck!

Thank you! I re-uploaded in a different format and it seems to have worked slightly better :)
