He lifted it because Thor allowed him to. Once Thor stopped allowing him to hold it, he couldn't.

Can you explain why in The Dark World [spoiler]when Thor and everyone was in Jane's place for awhile that he was able to set the hammer on the coat rack and it was able to hold the hammer?[/spoiler]

Superman lifted Mjolnir in a marvel/dc crossover but only because it chose him. You can't lift that hammer with only strength you must be worthy. The hammer is imbued with odin's magic which is the reason for this. Superman Prime One Million? Well he's near omnipotent so he could easily lift it. And solo Zeus and Odin at the same time.

So if Mjolnir just really heavy? Because Thor has no problem swing that baby around. Also, Cap's shield isn't heavy. Why is that an accomplishment?

No mjolnir is imbued with odin's magic which is why no one except thor can lift it.

Obviously I'm more of a DC guy so not everything I say I'm certain I'm right but it' supposed to parallel King Arthur's sword, only those of enough worth could lift it. Remember watching the movie thor? When he thought he could get back his hammer but he couldn't lift it? It wasn't just because he was mortal odin seriously decided thor was a brat unworthy of such a weapon.

Prime could pick it up then solo odin and zeus. Then use it to build a house upon their godly corpses. No one -blam!-s with dc one million supes.
