For what you want to do, Macbook pro. If you were going to do anything else besides editing video I would have said the Asus.
Windows isn't well optimized with video editing in my experience. It even lags on my monster of a desktop.

Edited by Legend To None: 10/27/2013 3:35:38 AMThat's a good point and one time me and a friend had to make a short video for class and we did it on a PC with Windows XP and it did alright to get it done and I'm not a professional at it either just for fun.Not disagreeing just what I'm thinking. Thanks for reply it helped me think.

Hmmm well in my experience it just comes down to setup and a well equipped PC murder stomps any Mac bar the absolute highest end Mac builds that cost a small fortune. That and most high end Mac gear is actually a bit old and they take a long time to update specs. A PC can do anything a Mac can at a fraction of the price. I think it all comes down to whether or not you prefer OSX over Windows and are willing to pay huge amounts of money for that privilege.

Edited by Zulin: 10/27/2013 3:38:05 AMMy PC is running a GTX 660, intel i5 3570k, 16gb RAM, and a SSD for the OS. When making my daily videos for youtube the sound would regularly go out of sync. Even on my mac mini that wouldn't happen. My PC still outperforms the Mac on every other aspect though. Only on video editing is it slower.

That's very strange. What sort of video software are you using?

I used both Camtasia and Sony Vegas. I ultimately stuck with Camtasia because Sony Vegas did it more often.

I luv my Asus.
