Helmand Province had the toughest fighting since WW2 and it was the British that got sent there and actually took control of the area, after Obama spoke with the Afghan president calling the British forces there useless and unable to hold the area (after several years of holding the area I may add) replaced the brits with American forces.
Got backstabbed by our ally, it was in the early wave of Wiki Leaks by the way, i'll never forget reading that.

Honestly, why do people even take this idiot seriously anymore?
-
Don't hold Obama as the opinions of the whole country, or even most of the country, at least the educated sector

I am sorry that the pretentious morons who call themselves leaders speak without considering a rational thought. My friends in the Army, Marines, all say they hate Obamas leadership.

Well I guess this video speaks wonders of the British forces, a small 28 man team replacing an American force 3x the size and instead of using vehicles they patrolled on foot? What does that tell you about the capabilities of our forces, Obama and the afghan president underestimated them that's for sure.
-
Wow, it's almost like you celebrate the use of our military.

There's nothing wrong with having somebody being proved wrong. I agree with why we went to Afghanistan, I don't agree with how long it's been going on for. Our military is fighting or based in many other area's around the world as part of the British Military or as peace keepers. Why not be proud at the skill of our country men who are risking their lives to protect us? Nobody forced them to do it, I had a guy from school who was in my form who went to Afghanistan he came back alive and whole, he left and settled down with his girlfriend and had a kid. Also just remember our military was designed to be fighting and in constant conflict, our nation has had about 17 years peace in it's whole existence it's too late now to start questioning how our military is used, when and where as long as it's not subjugating anyone. The goal was a good one, the result we wanted hasn't been achieved but it's better than leaving the country to the taliban making the war and sacrifice to be in vain.
