So wait, he gives Bioshock Infinite a 2, and Last of Us a 7?
I mean, Last of Us was basically "Escort Mission: The Game".

The Last of Us was a masterpiece and Bioshock (after the first one) sucked.
IMO
The Last of us also sucked.
In my OPINION
What the hell are you talking about? The Last of Us was excellent. It had a great, very compelling and believable story; a new take on zombies that was intriguing, repulsive, and terrifying all at the same time; beautiful graphics; very satisfying gameplay. The game deserved at least a 9.5. The only downside I can find is that it wasn't multiplatform, so people on the PC and the 360 were barred from playing this excellent game.

I'll level with ya, that was somewhat flamebait. And I haven't played the game, but I have seen gameplay. The Last of Us got a lot of praise for its story, but gameplay wise, it was a 3rd person cover shooter with some stealth and looting, with a crafting mechanic throw in. That's been done. But in the review above, Infinite gets called out for "flat, boring gameplay". Basically, 5 points got knocked off because the reviewer thought Infinite was trying to be too edgy and screwed up. Generally, I consider 2/10 to be a half assed game full of bugs that'll cause crashes over and over. I'm not saying LoU or Infinite are bad games, just that this guy's methodology makes no sense.

Ok, on the guys reasoning, I'll agree with you. I've seen Infinite played the whole way through, and I cannot name a single time when I thought the game was boring, repetitive, or trying to be too edgy. The game was excellent and more than worth all the times its release was pushed back. The game came out excellent. Now, you did bring up some good points about the Last of Us. I agree that the crafting system seemed like it was just thrown in for the hell of it. Now, on the other hand, I disagree with you about the cover and stealth mechanics. You have to understand that it's a zombie apocalypse, for all intents and purposes. Do you really think that Joel would just be able to walk through the middle of a group of zombies and not get attacked, especially when there are some that rely completely on sound to know their surroundings? And then there's the cover mechanic. This is kind of a necessity, as not having it would force players to constantly be making tons of med-packs, wasting a lot of resources that they could otherwise spend on more useful items. Also, the game is in third person for a number of reasons, but the primary reasons are to give players a greater field of view than they could in first person, and also to better show off the graphics, which are, to put it lightly, very impressive.
