I'm just curious. Tell us which title was your first taste of Bungie action and adventure. This is a census, as well as a chance to walk down memory lane.
And, sorry to those of you that want to vote specifically for Myth, Marathon, or ONI. The polls on Bungie.net don't support that level of detail.

Myth. Lots of fun, very difficult, and the danged archers had the attention span of gnats.

Marathon! I still have it in my collection of beautiful childhood memories.

Alright you gave me the chance so I'll take it. *pulls out corncob pipe and sits in rocker*. Well it was 2001 and I was in that awkward stage of realizing my life had and was continuing to make drastic turns. Caught between wanting to grow up but not quite ready to let go of being a child. It was closing in on the holiday season and there was a new box coming to a retailer near you! It was going to be the most powerful gaming machine ever conceived! Sure there was the PS2 but come on everyone had a PS2. This machine was bold, daring, new and fresh. It was from a company that had been in the software side of business. Could they pull off a gaming machine? Would it be better than the less expensive GameCube that was coming from a company that new both gaming hardware and software? I couldn't care less, this machine was powerful! That's all I cared about. I took a chance with the lesser known company. The box was like a suitcase full off brick and the controller was the size of a lunch tray at school. The only game I remember playing early on was Odd World: Munche's Oddysee. It was interesting at the time. Then came a game that made me realize that the machine I took a chance on was worth the risk. Halo:CE! I will never forget the awe of playing that beauty for the first time. That ring world was enigmatic, strange, dangerous and inviting all at the same time. Driving down the beach or freaking out in the lush jungles wondering where the enemy was at, it all seemed so, so invigorating! I will always cherish that first Bungie experience for more reasons than just the game itself but it was definitely a moment in my gaming life that raised the bar forever more.

4 RepliesThe question is slightly misleading as we don't whether the question is: 1: What was your first Bungie game you played? or 2: What was your first Bungie game you owned? But to answer both, my first Bungie game was Halo CE. But My first Bungie game that I owned was Halo 3.

The first console game I played was diddy kong racing on N64, then in about 2003 my parents came home with a big box they got at a pawnshop. In that box was an original Xbox and a couple of those massive controllers, along with Halo:CE, both KOTORs, and medal of honor frontline those games quickly became some of my all time favorites. I remember beating Halos CE through 3 with my step dad and it spawned my gaming hobby.

Oni. That was a hard game. Or I was crap at it. Or both.
-
Halo 2 was my first. ODST and Reach were my faves!
-
Oni was my first Bungie game.
-
Myth: The Fallen Lords! I loved the narration, it made the game come alive!
-
ONI here, and every release thereafter :) Bring on 9/9/14!
-
-
Halo CE, followed by Halo 2 and then Reach.
-
I've played all (that I know of), but Marathon is what truly turned me on to gaming.
-
1 ReplyMyth II soulblighter. And Oni. haven't played any if the halo series. Destiny will be my first bungie game since Oni.
-
I started by playing Halo:CE at my friends house, and this is back before Xbox made the smaller controllers, so it was kinda hard to handle. Then, later, Halo 2 was released, and my and my 2 brothers all saved up and bought and Xbox, with Halo 2. So officially, I didnt beat halo 1 until after I had beaten Halo 2. ODST, (being as unpopular as it was) was one of my personal favorites. In fact, I think that game is pretty close to destiny as of the exploration. Yeah, I think that is what I will do. Im going to get on ODST and just roam around New Mombasa and have a grand ol' time!
-
Started with Halo 3 then moved on to Reach and then Halo CE. I wasn't lucky enough to play Halo 2 or ODST and I was about 3 when Bungie made Myth, Marathon and ONI
-
played Halo 2 then bought halo:CE finished both just in time for Halo 3 release and bought that. i honestly have enjoyed all of the halos the only one i haven't played is ODST and i regret that. it looked like a good game.
-
2 RepliesWe don't mention ODST! Lol.
