What was your first Bungie game?

Pre-Halo (Marathon, Myth, ONI, et al)

502

Halo: CE

1879

Halo 2

467

Halo 3

548

ODST

42

Reach

Destiny

I'm just curious. Tell us which title was your first taste of Bungie action and adventure. This is a census, as well as a chance to walk down memory lane. And, sorry to those of you that want to vote specifically for Myth, Marathon, or ONI. The polls on Bungie.net don't support that level of detail.

    • Halo: Combat Evolved, though I can't recall whether I had it for PC or xbox first. I've gotten every Halo game since then as well. 343 is no Bungie when it comes to Halo but Destiny looks like it could surpass Halo and I can't wait.

    • Halo 3. Now that I've answered your question, how bout you answer mine. It's one we have debated endlessly on the forums. Why is your avatar/icon an old school drive-in movie speaker box? Sure, retro is cool, but DUDE! And by 'we have debated endlessly on the forums,' I meant I have debated endlessly in my own mind. I blame my Lithium prescription. Because I don't actually take it - I spit it out when 'they' aren't watching. J/K! Too far? I'm never sure. Lol.

Started at my neighbors in Halo 2. While I've always enjoyed games, the real start of being a gamer was directly because of Halo 3, but man I love playing Marathon every once in a while, wish I could get my hands on some older Bungie titles too.

    • I first played halo 3 at my cousins house and we started off with the campaign. I still remember my favorite mission were you fly the hornets I think it was the 5 mission in the game I've probably played that mission like a thousand times in my life. I just hope destiny will be as good as that one mission and I'll be happy.
BUNGIE RULES!!!
• I'll admit it, I'm not that old, so my first Halo experience was H2, but I own CE, a damn fine game.

      • Went to a friends house and played Halo 3. We jumped off warthogs while playing Green Day songs. Probably one of my favorite gaming memories

      • I got my first taste of Bungie at the age of seven, when I discovered my father's copy of Halo:CE. I remember being fascinated by the rich story, world, and characters as I wandered through the various locales of the famed ring-world. Since then, I've played and thoroughly enjoyed every Halo title, stepped back in time to experience the Marathon ports for PC, and eagerly await Destiny and the bright future it holds.

I played the Pre-Halo games (Specifically, Marathon and Myth) during the Halo Era, before actually playing Halo.

If you saw my previous comment, I am sorry, I thought this was asking what your favorite Bungie game was. After re-reading and re-answering, Halo.

      • Halo CE on the PC. (first "M" game overall). Then I got Reach, followed by 4 when it was released, and backtracked into 2, 3, and ODST at the beginning of this summer... (before I knew what Microsoft was planning).

      • Halo: Combat Evolved. I remember going to the Best Buy where my dad bought it and a couple other games like Max Payne and Unreal Tournament 3. I was only 4 or 5 back then, though, when I first started playing those games. I think I've turned out pretty well.

Halo CE was love at first sight for me. I was introduced to it by two of my friends. In the summer me and a group of friends would play football and hang out almost daily. But then we noticed that two of our friends would disappear and for some reason they would never hang out with us anymore. We went to their home to see what was going on. We found out they were playing this stupid game called Halo. We were livid that they were ditching us for a stupid video game. My two friends wanted to redeem themselves so they set up a LAN party. After that my friends and I were hooked on that game. We would play football in the morning but in the evening time until usually 2 AM we'd be playing super fun games on Halo CE. I could go on all day about how much I love that game but I'll stop here.

        • It was going to be Destiny. I was impressed by it. However, me and the others at the FES analyzed it and saw the game for what it truly was- propaganda.

Halo: Combat Evolved. I remember hearing whispers of a game called 'Halo', but never knew much about it at all. Only that it was supposed be very promising. I then later discovered it was a game with guns and aliens. I recall being surprised by this based on the title of the game; 'Halo' just didn't seem to fit, lol. Anyway, played a demo a few times in toys 'r' us, and when it came down to a choice for one of the next generation consoles, my bro and I chose Xbox. We chose it 'cause it was the most powerful, I think, and I guess I also was intrigued by Halo. Was the first game I played after receiving my new system. Loved it the moment 'Chief crash landed on the titular ring. I have a thing for wide open spaces, and environments that ooze an unknown history and great atmosphere, that beg you to explore. Gunplay was incredible, too. And, yeah, I've enjoyed the series ever since. The gameplay, the art, the design, and the lore.

          • Halo 3 was my first Bungie game and I can thankfully say that because I met some of my best online friends playing that game. The horrors/laughs had during the Vidmaster Achievements were legendary and we still talk about it to this day. Cannot wait for the memories to be had when we all get our hands on Destiny!
