Most people want the ability to create their own maps and game types. Without forge, we likely would never have seen one of, if not the most popular "mod", Griffball. It's not lazy of Bungie to provide players with the tools to build things beyond what they thought of, it's empowering. It would be one thing if Bungie only made a forge world. But Bungie has never done that. They've always provided us with both professionally created and meticulously designed maps, in addition to some blank canvases on which people can create a wide array of new and fun maps.

 • What I oppose is the existence of Forge maps in the absence of classic maps.

 • But that has literally happened zero times. Ray Charles has killed more Jews than times Bungie has released Forge maps in the absence of classic maps.

 • Really. So where exactly is Zanzibar / Last Resort in Halo Reach?

 • There were plenty of maps that were not remade before Forge World showed up. • You mean you just want to be stuck playing the same 10 or so maps with a slight re-skin every single Halo game? Even the best maps can get old after being over-played, I'd rather have the chance to enjoy a couple of classics but with some new maps that can become classic in their own right if they're good enough.

 • No, I'm saying that my experience with Halo is that Bungie made scores of maps, even the worst of which were made by professional world builders, and that on the best day, an amateur might make a map configuration in the top 30. Meanwhile Bungie retires excellent maps and we still have Forge for amateur hour. I cannot blame Bungie but blame 343 for allowing a Forge version of Lockout which was horrendous. Let us recall that Bungie makes heat maps and dynamically tests for weapon drops and lines of sight with tools that are not available to Forgers. This fulfilled their 30 seconds of fun rule. As much as people complain about overpowered weapons, that's nothing compared to crappy maps. In Destiny there will be whole worlds to populate with maps. I could live entirely without Forge maps, but I agree that inventive game types and actually good maps can be made. But what I don't want is the pollution of great design with amateur maps at the expense of classic maps. It counts on the margin of how and under what circumstances Bungie decommissions areas of play within the Solar System. There very well may be more space in the whole realm of Destiny than anybody can fill - Hell the hot side of Mercury could be Forge Planet. But I sure don't want to run into blocky Forge stuff on every planet or every multiplayer arena. It's not a god game.
