x = r cos (theta)
y = r sin (theta)
The r cancels out so
cos (theta) = sin (theta)
Solve for theta
That's your equation

Wait I'm confused How do I get the 7x = 7y to be an ordered pair (whatever x equals, whatever y equals)?
-
Divide by 7...
-
but then it's x=y I only know what to do if it's an ordered pair
-
I gave you everything you need to know in my post It's not a hard problem
-
I still don't get it though :( And isn't the x = r cos (theta) only for converting from polar to rectangular?
-
It doesn't matter how the equation is written since you can rearrange it to go either way. In the end you can derive the two equations he has from the two equations you have. The end result is the same.

Well you definitely seem to know what you're taking about. I'll try the problem a bit later while reading all your info, and report back if I can solve it.
