No, because I'm not letting anyone take my hard-earned money to redistribute it to people I don't know. That's called having a welfare state, and does not work in the real world, no matter how much you'd like it to.
If I want to help people, I'll give to charity or volunteer (which I do), but it is not the government's place--or anyone else's, for that matter--to decide how much I need to give to anyone.

You don't understand socialism.

Explain?

Assuming we are talking about Marx's socialism, of course. Socialism does not use money, nor does it redistribute anything like property.

Not Marx's socialism. I know what you're talking about, but I'm talking about the misnamed facet of modern overreaching government. I'm not sure what to call it besides the misnomer, so I used the misnomer.

Welfare state?

Yes, that's it. Christ, I can't remember this stuff anymore. I'll edit the post, thanks.
