I had a close friend and he got a girlfriend 10 months ago, when a semester long physics project came along and the teacher assigned the groups. Me and the girl were in the same group. First few months into the school year, I had to talk to the girl and we had to work together on the project. The guy was there as well, he sometimes would leave if we were working on the project for a long time. I never had a girlfriend, never talked to girls and never felt like talking to them. I was actually like 'great, i'm forced to talk and be with this girl for the entire semester -.-'. The guy realized that I am going to be needing to talk to the girl often and thought she would like me so he started going to me and telling me that she's busy and then going to her and telling her that i'm busy and that we can't work on the project, which got me kind of annoyed but it was whatever, it's his girlfriend. Two months passed and me and the girl met up every other day to work on the project and a few weeks ago, she said that she likes me and that she doesn't know if she likes the other guy anymore. She asked me if I like her (she's kinda cute) and because I wouldn't mind her being my girlfriend (is that bad?) so I said that I very slightly do and that I think she's cute but that she should like the other and continue going out with him. A few more weeks after that, she finally told the guy that she started liking me, the guy told her not to talk to me, I was okay with that but then she still texted me every now and I texted back. The close friend then started spreading rumors about how I am going out with his girlfriend, which got me upset. So I then started telling people that I do like her back.. now they broke up, the girl likes me A Lot and would cry endlessly if I told her that I don't like her, and the guy hates me, which I don't mind. What are your thoughts? Am I the villain? Should I be hated or did I not do anything wrong?
