Laissez Faire capitalism has got to be one of the most retarded economic philosophies out there.
You'll never get a free market, libertardians. Cry some more.

Sometimes I wonder if people really think a market with no regulations would be anything other than a grindhouse for consumers. I can imagine all the contaminated food and dangerous drugs on the market.

Instead of being condescending, how about you discuss your position?
Instead of being condescending, how about you discuss your position?
Sure. There's a book called "Economic Facts and Fallacies" by Thomas Sowell. Read it (Sowell's "Basic Economics" would be an excellent choice as well).

That's not discussion. Why do you even post if you don't want to talk about it?
That's not discussion. Why do you even post if you don't want to talk about it?
You have to understand the basics before you can discuss anything.

"Your opinion is wrong, please read (Insert random economics book here)" This is directed towards you, I'm not rephrasing what you said. My point is that you're being a condescending prick when you assume that someone isn't informed on the topic when they have a different opinion than yours.

I see it all the time on these boards. Some kid arguing for/against something he doesn't entirely understand. It's painfully obvious when this happens. As if educating yourself is "condescending."
"Not being informed" is very different than "not having the same opinion."
The distinction is not so clear in your post.

Sometimes it's best if you educate yourself. That way you'll have a better understanding of the opposing philsophy.
-
The whole point in this thread is to discuss positions, not tell someone to read a book.

Except this is a forum...

Edited by cxkxr: 9/28/2013 7:36:49 PM
Except this is a forum...
Therefore suggesting someone to study about it themselves is not acceptable? There's a lot to grasp, and impossible to explain thoroughly(as hard as I try) in a forum post.

Yes but a forum is for discussion. Waving it off and saying 'read a book' is counter-productive to point of contributing in the first place. I have no problem with recommending a book - I absolutely love to read. But for God's sake, he could've said something contributory.
-
Meh, I guess I can't argue that.

disagree with someone's politics? might as well make fun of disabled people while you're at it
libertardians
At least try to be civil about things.
