They are entitled to their opinions, just like everyone else.

  • Wishing death upon someone or a group of people is pretty damn horrid, opinion or not.

  • So you've never said, "Damn I wished ``insert group of people here`` would drop off the face of the planet." Let's face it, at some point you have and no matter how serious you were at the time, deep down you probably harbor that opinion but nobody hates you for it, at least they shouldn't.

  • I don't hate anyone, but you're right. I still don't really see your point though?

  • My point is that not donating to an organization that has made lives better because members of the upper management believes that homosexuals should be killed according to their interpretation of the bible is ignorant. I mean, does chick fil a poison the sandwhiches of every gay man or woman that eats their food? Unless there's some huge rash of deaths caused by chick fil a in the world, I think we can assume there won't be a mass genocide headed up by the Salvation Army.

  • Chick fil a? wtf? I still don't get your point.

  • Members of their upper management dislike gay people as much as some members of the Salvation army.

  • stating an opinion and carrying one out are two different things. I think idiots like you should be purged from the internet, yet I do nothing about it.

  • There are plenty of neo-nazis today that don't act on their opinions. Should we all donate to their organizations? Also, nice ad hominem. Really makes you look smart.

  • So you're mad because I proved my point by applying it to you? So sad. And that's fine, don't give to their organization, but it doesn't change the fact they are entitled to their opinion.

  • No one is saying that they should not have the right to have their barbaric opinions. People are only saying that they should not be donated to.

  • Why? If someone wants to donate to their cause to help the people they do help, then they should.

  • Because they promote the idea that gays should be killed. Is this really hard to understand?

  • But they don't actively promote it, it's just an opinion they have. Do you see any Salvation Army signs or workers telling you how vile and evil homosexuals are? No. They were asked a question and answered it.

  • The fact that the higher ups in that organization made that belief public is enough for any moral person to not give money to them anymore. There are plenty of other organizations that do the same thing and don't have the audacity to call for the death of a group of innocent people.

  • I think you are overreacting to the whole situation. Did you stop buying chick fil a too?

I never went to chick fil a in the first place. Anyway, chick fil a never called for the deaths of gays.

  • So, they still spoke out against gays and gave a morally gray opinion. You shouldn't give them money for their food because they don't love every single person on the planet.

  • I don't not eat at chick fil a for moral reasons, I just don't like their food. Stop assuming.

  • Then stop assuming that people who donate to the Salvation Army hold the same beliefs as the organization's senior members.

  • I never even implied that. I only say that people shouldn't donate to an organization that supports the death of an entire group of people. How you think that's OK is beyond me.

  • Everyone has opinions, some are less popular than others, it's only when they act out those opinions that you should worry.

  • If that opinion is that a group of people should die, that person deserves no respect.
