Edited by Frnksnbns: 9/21/2013 11:41:02 PMThere were countless lawsuits actually. It's complicated and went on for years. Of course trying to explain it all would be a total waste of my time. In all honesty, GB has much bigger issues lying ahead in terms of Big Brother. Since your Parliament is your acting equivalent to our Constitution, they can pass/change/repeal any law they want. Our civil liberties are enshrined in words and cannot be taken from us. It's hard to see the nuance but for as bad as spying is, no American will ever have any of that information used against him in a court of law. British subjects do not have that guarantee.

We are aware of the CCTV and nobody actually care's because they are in public and anybody and everybody is legally allowed to record in public. There was a thing in the news a while back about police drones being used to invade privacy and that laws have been passed to say a cop needs to be a certain distance from the drone for it to be used. Last I checked the police can use predator drones in the USA while we get crappy little ones that can't carry a weapon, massive difference. Also just because it's written down doesn't mean it protects you, why would you need to take it to court otherwise?
