The kinect is actually awesome. Here's the problem.
No one programs for kinect because no one has it because no one programs for it.
By Microsoft making sure that everyone has kinect, developers are more likely to add kinect support to all if their games. This is a good thing.

Yes, but like what? Voice commands for stuff that can be easily done with a press of a button?
-
Head tracking. Leaning in to lean in games that utilise cover or when piloting jets in games like BF4.

Edited by Votable: 9/17/2013 2:34:31 AMLeaning as in FPSs that you can leave around cover (?) see some problems, take cover in game like Gears or Mass Effect/ see the same problems like mentioned before that it could register stuff that you didn't mean to do like, and piloting jets...can't see that besides using an invisible "steering wheel" *Edit* But other then that, good points.

Edited by Winters Darkseid: 9/17/2013 2:40:34 AMWell yeah. The heart detection thing is cool, too. Dynamic spawns for monsters in horror games would be amazing.
Dynamic spawns for monsters in horror games would be amazing.
I'm sorry. What?
-
Detecting your heartbeat using the Kinect and knowing when's the best time to spawn a monster in a horror game. Or, if you're not being scared, changing up scare tactics.
-
Ah, make the game kinda easy if you heart beats fast though but can help I'm case you...OD(?) on a scary game...what a horrible way to use OD.

I adore voice commands in games like skyrim, cea, and mass effect. They remove the need to pause the game simply to swap around equipment. Makes for faster gameplay. However, there is no reason that a motion sensor should succeed because of the voice functionality. But because it does, I say take advantage of it.

Eh Skyrim...didn't work me that much. And I don't even have any thick accent unless you count "American". For Mass Effect delayed...And Halo CEA that was noticible delayed but for stuff like "Grenade", "flashlight", "reload" and other game stuff. The scanning thing was pretty cool.
