Dadrock like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC are shit. Listen to Alternative or actually look for modern metal/rock and you'll find good things.

  • >Implying it's a joke Those old bands weren't that good, your dad just grew up with them and thus over-praised them. Just like dads all over the world, hence dadrock. Sure, the stuff was slightly innovative, but that doesn't mean it aged well or sounds good today.

I own Led Zeppelin songs and other dadrock songs. The songs are really nothing special and there are many artists today who could be considered better from an unbiased view, rock or not. However history will favor the old bands because everything was better x years ago.

  • Name a modern rock vocalist who can sing like Jimmy Page. The difference is that these guys were the first to pioneer their genre, so we owe them respect.

  • Old rock was just full of people who screamed and sang ridiculously high, while modern rock vocalists spread to many different octaves and have a wide range of good singing. Matt Bellamy from Muse alone has a better voice.

And Muse wasn't inspired by Led Zeppelin? That's my point. On top of that, the new rock audio is very compressed like the video above. • You were referring to people in modern times having a voice like Jimmy Page which is why I said that old rock was just full of high pitch singers, since it was. High screaming isn't as popular of a form of rock and roll. Singers today are still good, if not better, and there are many bands with equal or better talent as old rock singers. Rock changed some, some includes more synth now. It doesn't mean it is dead or not popular.
