So what? Are you gonna buy an Xbox One and not pay $5 a month for Gold and instead pay $15 a month for one game?

Edited by Vgnut: 8/27/2013 10:13:13 PMSome might. I think it's more of a backlash against the idea of a monthly subscription for an MMO in 2013 and Microsoft's ever the more questioned XBL Gold policies.

You're not going to pay $500 US for a console to tie yourself to one game. If you like ESO then you're into online games so you'll need Gold for those other games. I can not possibly foresee anybody who's willing to buy the Xbox One just for one game. If they're that rich then they could just get the gaming PC with all of the MMORPGs in the world.

A little presumptuous to suggest there can't be people interested in ESO and not interested in playing other multiplayer games. No I don't think there are swathes of people buying a console solely to play ESO. For some it's a factor. And for those willing to pay $15 a month to make ESO their go to game it's frustrating to have to pay a subscription to Bethesda as well as a separate subscription to Microsoft. But like I said the backlash directed at Bethesda is over a monthly fee when MMO's are going to F2P route. The other is against Microsoft's Gold policies (and Xbox in general) which have been under heavy scrutiny as of late.

Erm, no, if you're getting ESO, you're getting Gold otherwise you're getting a console for a single game which isn't sensible.

Edited by Vgnut: 8/28/2013 1:06:06 AMDid you even read my post? Seriously. No, there aren't tons of people buying an Xbox One for the sole purpose of playing ESO. There are however people interested in the console and game and frustrated that if they make the Xbox One their platform of choice they'd be forced to pay a subscription on top of a subscription. The people frustrated at this feel screwed either way because they want ESO and an Xbox One.

Yeah.
