IDK. This partly depends on the weapon handling in the game. In borderlands for example i liked running with snipers that had high hipfire accuracy, with shotguns, heavy pistols, and smgs as my main alternates. LMG is very hit or miss for me, mainly due to weapon handling. ARs are generally a decent fallback, so i'd definitely keep one around, but i typically prefer using semiautomatics capable of delivering 1-2 hit kills as my primary, and when i do use automatics i usually prefer the speed (both in fire rate and handling) of an smg. so.... i guess sniper for now. I hope they don't restrict both shotguns and snipers to the heavy slot, though. but.... if the god pistol makes a comeback pistol shotty would be decent too.
