What is your disposition towards the USA based on their actions?
-
Government is rarely the good guys.
-
Lots of kids thinking they're edgy by saying the government is bad here on Bnet.
-
Like the governments' of most 'First World' nations, they do good and bad - sending aid to countries that need it, but also interfere in other country's problems and end up being hated, so it's somewhere inbetween, however I'm sure most of the world would say it's the bad guy.
-
with the NSA crap going on you guys look like the new sovjet union
-
Bad. Because those that are actually good people are rendered powerless by those who are terrible people and are in higher positions in them and are of greater quantity. So they're bad because the ones that can actually do something are the ones who are bad. They are hypocrites, because when Bush declared war none of the Senators would dare send their kids to fight in the war. Which makes me sick, and military spending is so vast that it takes away money from the poor that exist in our country and the only way for them to find financial rescue is through the military and the money you get. We never found WMD that 2 years ago in 2001 Bush and Rice said that Sadaam had in no way been able, or would ever be able to fund or get a hold of WMD or nukes.
-
Where's the "meh" option?
-
Believing that people are absolutely good or evil is a fools gambit.
-
Depends. I like to think that there are a mix of bad and good people in the Government. They're not all evil, self serving fools, but a good amount of them are. However, a lot of the stuff that happens is just terrible. NDAA, Patriot Act, Drone strikes, the war against Syria (We gave the rebels the Sarin gas, and the real target is Iran. They have a mutual defense agreement, and Russia gave the president anti aircraft weapons. China also supports them. The reason we want to be there is that we want to keep the petrodollar alive, or the economy will fail horribly. Iran also has the strait of Hormuz, which has a metric shitload of petroleum pass through constantly) So, to be fair, not all of the people in Gov are crooked, just a good amount.
-
The government you vote for is the one that you possess.
-
Good guys... I am not on an NSA watch list.
-
Its bad here in the states and worse yet - we can't just shut our mouths (the government) for two seconds, we have so many enemies.
A lot of allies too
-
1 ReplyI would like to call the current government a corrupt, self-serving machine of corporate evil, but I signed away that right...
-
1 ReplyMore and more people are thinking/feeling this way.

Edited by TheEndofClass: 8/23/2013 7:15:38 AMBelieve it or not, "The Government" is not a single entity, but a group of thousands and thousands and people; most of whom do not have incredible decision making ability. The small fraction that makes most of the decisions is Congress and the White House. The complete ineptitude of the current Congress and the overall shadiness of the current Administration is what most Americans are having a lot of problems with. Also, do not group the Government in with the People. Do not group the soldiers in other countries with the People. The majority of problems people have with the USA is either with the Government or the Government's actions. The general public has practically no power in where our troops are sent to or the shitty stuff our Government does. Do not blame us for their actions.

Nooooo

Edited by Section Ratio General: 8/22/2013 3:11:07 PMIdeally? Good. Reality? Bad. I blame the legislative branch and shift more of that blame towards House. Edit: Seeing the responses here, lol. If Americans think the government is so corrupted, they haven't been to China, the Philippines or Laos yet, I will guarantee that.

I don't want a nation of thinkers, I want a nation of workers. - John. D. Rockefeller
-
I don't like the government in the sense that politicians are scum and shady
-
I have no respect for them, especially their intelligence service.
-
1 ReplyThe American form of government is great, unfortunately, the politicians in power are corrupt as -blam!-.
-
25 RepliesIf any Americans... I mean AMERICANS read this comment what I am about to say may offend you. For some reason you guys think that u r above the restrictions that u put on other countries. And another thing u aren't the world police. I know u guys r trying to do some good but u don't just go around trying to fix other people's problems. Sometimes u just have to back out. The last thing is ur senators and politicians don't even care about their people half the time and care about their money and power. Five bucks they'll put me on some kind of list saying "watch out for this guy" just cuz I posted this. I hope Americans know where I'm coming from because though u might be the good guys the fine line between of what is for the people and for the power is always being crossed.
-
Obviously good, but because a good portion of Americans are ignorant and think running a world superpower is extremely easy for some odd reason, they will criticize every action of the government and go against them just to act smart.
-
9 RepliesI don't view the government as a single entity, because that's a lazy and counter-productive method of visualization. Governments consists of multiple people with varying beliefs, motives, usefulness, and degrees of corruption.
-
Good guys and bad guys actually exist? I didn't know the world was so simple
-
The responses were actually refreshing. I'm glad it wasn't 95% "HOW DARE YOU! OUR GOVERNMENT WOULD NEVER BLAH BLAH BLAH!" I guess after they have been incompetent on every little thing for THIS long you just run out of excuses.
