I have a bunch of classics that I downloaded legally for free. Books that aren't available that way I just buy used or whatever option is cheapest. I'll try to buy them in a nice hardcover style if I love them.

yeah i was surprised when Dracula and other classics came free with the Nook app.

Well you can go on the Gutenberg project and get everything from Frankenstein, to 1984, to Ulysses. I haven't even come close to reading them all yet, as I only just learned about it. Currently reading Crime and Punishment which was free, so that's cool.

bleh, had to read that for IB English. horrible. never again.

I like it. It's not my favorite book I've ever read, sometimes the characters can seem pretty unrelatable, but overall it's a pretty good book, and the first portion of the book is pretty great IMO. Really dark, and gives you a pretty paranoid feeling when reading.
-
yeah i think i hated it so much because we had to analyze it chapter by chapter, character by character. tedious mind-numbing work.

Yeah I could see growing to resent the book because of that. In terms of character depth, there isn't a lot there. Raskolnikov and his relationship with his family is pretty interesting, but the rest is just kinda filler.
