It isn't. Gender dysphoria is.
-
It isn't anymore.
-
Actually it is. I really couldn't care less if they say it isn't. When it causes this many problems and people kill themselves over it, then it's a disorder. Also, other organizations see it as a disorder as well, showing they actually know how to use logic.
-
It causes problems because people do not support or accept trans* people. Trans* people with support from their friends, families, employers, and doctors can live perfectly normal lives. When a problem arises because of the way other people react to something and not because of anything inherent to the thing itself, it's not a disorder. Try again.

Edited by Enigma: 8/15/2013 5:50:12 AMYou clearly haven't read the many cases where there's major self identity conflict and personal issues. Until you actually figure out what you're talking about and do research, I won't waste my time on an idiot who is dumb enough to think problems from being in the wrong body is purely environmental. Actually, I'll just mute you instead. Your post was beyond moronic and ignorant, so I don't even want to read the stupidity you'll reply with.
-
its quite obvious you're a bad troll.
-
Edited by Enigma: 8/15/2013 9:07:31 PMAnd you're muted. Another generic idiot to add to the list.

-
Good thing your opinion doesn't hold much water against the official organizations that decide these sorts of things.

Edited by Enigma: 8/14/2013 9:29:35 PMhttp://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_identity_disorder http://www.genderpsychology.org/transsexual/dsm_iv.html http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classification_of_transsexual_people You're the typical idiot who sees one link on a video game forum and thinks he's an expert when in reality, you're too stupid to use logic and do your own research. Not to mention I literally just pointed out one organization declassified the disorder, which you were still too dumb to deduce from the article you linked. I assume you're not smart enough to understand the definition of disorder as well, so I advise you to do a quick google search before replying and making a further idiot out of yourself.
-
You do understand that it was previously referred to a disorder, but that has changed. In fact, it was just changed a few months ago in DSM 5 so clearly some places will not have been updated yet with the updated definition. I also find it pretty funny that your second link cites the DSM IV, when they changed it in DSM 5.
-
It's still is an abnormality in DSM V and you completely ignored that third link.
-
Edited by Ryan: 8/14/2013 9:40:29 PMYour original post referred to it as a disorder, so you're still wrong. The third link lists dated classifications so please try again.
-
You've pretty much confirmed you're an idiot at this point. The fact that you clearly didn't even look past the categories in the third link makes me not take you remotely seriously. International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. It's still a disorder by other categorational standards. I also affixed you to look up the definition but you weren't even capable of doing that. Learn to do basic research and comprehend sources before replying.

Edited by Ryan: 8/14/2013 9:54:57 PM*Ahem*
These nomenclatures were created at different times and driven by different professional groups through a consensus process. There is an expectation that the differences between the systems will be eliminated by the year 2000. At this point, the specific diagnoses are based to a larger extent on clinical reasoning than on scientific investigation.
Also you do know that the ICD-10 was completed in 1992? So it's still pretty old compared to the DSM-V. Please stop calling people idiots about research when you clearly have no idea how to find quality citations to support your claims.

hi rose
-
Muted. Don't feel like dealing with trolls like you.
-
Oh, mute me too.

you're failing

I'm not sure if I should feel bad for him or laugh...
