Why vainly worry about starving children in Africa, when ultimately your potential effort to help them does little to nothing for them? One could say worrying about them is noble, but when you do that and realize what was said above about any effort to help them, you then only end up hurting yourself, because you realize you can't save them all. Doing such a thing, hurting your mind and spirit is very much counter to Hedonism. And, for them, self is just as important as another person. So hurting your spirit vs. not worrying about the Africans is simply an equal trade off where one side is no righter than the other. Perhaps not worrying about the poor and sick is even righter in their view, because of the whole Hedonism thing.
