That's yet to be seen. History will probably view George W. Bush as one of the worst presidents in American history. I doubt the same will be said of Obama. The man has years left in his presidency. He may accomplish some great things that lead to him being viewed as a great president. Or he may do nothing and he'll be seen as a lame duck.
Yeah, there are a lot of horrible, horrible things started under George W. Bush that Obama has continued. If, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of indication of it, he can wind these programs down and leave office with the economy moving at a slow but steady recovery then he'll have fulfilled his promised potential.
I seriously doubt he'll been seen as worse than Bush though. I don't think Americans fully grasp the damage Bush did to the United States' image. The US was a joke to those outside looking in.

Once the effect of "first black president" wears off people will realize how shitty Obama is
The US was a joke to those outside looking in.
It still is.

In 30, 50, 80 years, I think Obama will be seen as a mediocre president.

Edited by Vgnut: 8/14/2013 9:45:04 AMYou could be absolutely right. You could be wrong. That's a really hard call to make since our view of historical events and people change. A good example would be Jimmy Carter. For a long time people thought he was a mediocre president. Some still do. Generally though he's now seen as being someone that was ahead of his time, wise, and today carries a lot of moral suasion. More so than any living president. The facts of Ronald Reagan's presidency have been subject to probably the most revision of any president over the last several decades.

Lol. Carter. He's done great things in his personal life, but was a horrible president. - Der
