Lol so many butthurt replys
-
Well, to be fair, you come off as a bit of an asshole too. But it's okay, you're among friends...i'm sure at least one or two people here like you. :)
-
I can see that they have that ''I'm so edgy'' thing going on, but I don't see why they're assholes.
-
Because they are explicitly trying to offend as many people as they can, for no reason. Doesn't that seem like a dick move to you?
-
Edited by DMMetalaane: 8/15/2013 8:44:06 PMYou seem to be implying that anyone who is under a namesake that can turn a head is out to offend many people. Just like how Christians can hate LGBTs, and said LGBTs may be a hell of a lot nicer and smarter than said Christians...the same scenario can apply to Christians and LaVeyans. The banners people align themselves with should not logically state what people they're trying to offend.
-
Is that so? I can't seem to find anything like that from the wikipedia article. As I udnerstand, they're trying to use 'Satan' not in the sense that Christians use it, but rather as a symbol of individualism/rebelliousness.
-
Well that's pretty naive if that is really their intention; they should know that what they are doing is offensive.
-
Do you ever offend anyone, intentionally or unintentionally? If someone being offended is the benchmark for being an asshole, than would it be fair to say the only people on Earth who aren't assholes are the ones who actively try to be non-offensive 100% of the time and are also 100% successful?
-
Why? Because you disagree with it? Because it challenges your beliefs?
-
>Venerating evil incarnate >Not offensive Pick one
-
So because you disagree with it. Well done.

Edited by dr0cx: 8/15/2013 8:31:52 PMWas satan really evil? He is only recorded as being responsible for the deaths of 10 people in the entirety of the bible... and that was the children of Job, at the behest of God. How much genocide did God commit according to the bible? God kills millions if not tens of millions in the bible. What is punishable by death in the bible (the word of God)? More than I care to list. What did Satan do? Gave us knowledge.
-
You know why many Christians in the south think atheists are evil devil worshippers? It's BS like this. Questioning whether Satan is evil is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard.
-
The source for Satan being 'evil' is from a book, The Holy Bible. The source for Satan being otherwise is also from a book, The Satanic Scriptures. The Holy Bible has influenced the church of Christianity. The Satanic Scriptures has influenced The Church of Satan. How do you determine which views are correct, and determine that Satan is 'evil'?
-
Because the idea of Satan originated with Christianity and in it he represented evil. If Satanists didn't want to be viewed as such, maybe they should have chosen Barney the Dinosaur as their mascot. But no, they chose the devil. Kind of their fault IMO.
-
You know why many Christians in the south think atheists are evil devil worshippers?
Because they're retarded?
It's BS like this. Questioning whether Satan is evil is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard.
Oh I guess not. Anyways, Satan is definitely less evil than god.
Oh I guess not. Anyways, Satan is definitely less evil than god.
You're really trying my patience.
-
Max, either start defending your statements and debating like an adult, or don't bother participating in these kinds of threads.
-
Welcome to the world of every human that has ever debated with you.
-
sorry max, genocide, misogony, and slavery are ok.
-
How is anyone trying your patience? Do you deny God's body count? Do you deny Satan's lack of a body count? Do you have any scripture at all that you can reference that demonstrates that Satan is evil?
-
Yes, I do deny it. God has not killed anyone, the Old Testament is metaphorical. Now, have you ever heard of demonic possession? Temptation to evil? That's all Satan.
-
Edited by dr0cx: 8/16/2013 11:47:24 AMThe old testament is metaphorical? Defend that statement. where exactly in the Bible does it state that satan is responsible for demonic possession. Also source where the Bible states that satan tenors pepper to do evil.
-
The old testament is metaphorical? Defend that statement.
It runs contrary to God's nature of omnibenevolence, as well, Jesus dismissed many Old Testament practices, such as dietary laws.
where exactly in the Bible does it state that satan is responsible for demonic possession.
I'm not a Protestant; in Catholicism, not every teaching comes directly from the Bible. Even so, I think Satanic possession being a part of Christianity is pretty much common knowledge, even to atheists.
Also source where the Bible states that satan tenors pepper to do evil.
The Garden of Eden. Or if you want something from he New Testament, when Satan attempts to tempt Jesus.
It runs contrary to God's nature of omnibenevolence, as well, Jesus dismissed many Old Testament practices, such as dietary laws.
Let me get this straight. God has a nature of omnibenevolence, but only provided mankind a book of often and easily misinterpreted metaphors until he decided enough is enough, here's Jesus? That runs contrary to omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. So what you are saying here is that God is not God. Interesting.
I'm not a Protestant; in Catholicism, not every teaching comes directly from the Bible. Even so, I think Satanic possession being a part of Christianity is pretty much common knowledge, even to atheists.
Common knowledge isn't the right word for it. The bible has references do demonic posession, not satanic posession. Man's continued fanfiction covering satanic possession is what you are calling common knowledge. If you are going to believe every piece of conman fanfiction, allow me to introduce you to the book of mormon.
The Garden of Eden. Or if you want something from he New Testament, when Satan attempts to tempt Jesus.
The garden of eden, where his great evil deed was having man eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. So giving people knowledge is evil? Tempting Jesus, what part of this story does Satan do that is evil? Make yourself some food, demonstrate that god won't let you fall, here praise me and I'll give you all this land. None of those things are evil. What is going on here is you are saying something is evil because God defines it as evil. This is not unlike the 2 minutes hate from nineteen eighty four. Why should we not question big brother?
