Would you snitch on your son?

Turn him in

84

Have his back

27

Put yourself in this scenario: 20 years from now, you Mr. Floodian have lived a happy, successful life with a beautiful wife and kids. One day your 17 year old son, who occasionally is a troublemaker, but is really a good hearted kid, comes home crying. He tells you he was driving drunk, and that he hit a women and her child. He killed them. He confides in you that he is scared out of his mind and he doesn't know what to do. You realise your son is a killer Would you turn him in and try to face the victim's family? Or would you help him cover it up / escape the country / get away?

  • I would turn him in. You have to reach kids responsibility.

  • Yes. My mother said she'd do the same to me.

I'd turn him over to the police, but I'd buy him some cigarettes and lube first. You know, cause he's my kid.

  • I don't know if I could honestly do that, even though it's inevitable that he would be found out.

    • And this would teach the kid what? You can get away with killing people?! I'd knock him out and drive him to the cops myself if my kid came back telling me this! He hit a woman and her kid and LEFT THEM TO DIE ON THE -blam!-ING ROAD! I really hope you guys who would "have his back" NEVER HAVE KIDS...or are just voting that one for the lulz.

      • Though I'm very much in favor of not having kids of my own, I would have him turn himself in. On a side note, I hope this thread isn't secretly asking for advice. :(

      • People have died because of him. He should face punishment.

      • I don't think I could bring myself to do it. I mean sure, it's easy saying you would and it sounds good and all. Actually doing it, knowing all the repercussions they would have you more than anything else is completely different.

      • Of course I would turn him in. He must face the consequences for his decisions. Rather, I would strongly encourage him to turn himself in. If he refused, I would still turn him in.

Wow Flood you disappoint me. Family first. I would never give up my firstborn, my treasure. After I'd put so many years into loving my son I would never be able to consider betraying him.

            • I wouldn't turn him in...i would turn him in if he was involved with drugs something else serious but not something that would put him behind bars for life.

            • Having his back could mean a lot more than one thing. I'd have his back, but still tell him to do the right thing and turn himself in. If he doesn't, I'm turning him in, hiring him a good lawyer, and wishing him the best. No matter the case, I'd still support him throughout this situation.

            • I'd convince him to turn himself in and tell him he's lucky because of his age. At 17 the consequences will probably be a lot more lenient.

            • I'd tell him that a man has to own up for his mistakes. There's no excuse for what he did when it came to ending two people life. Frankly I'd be severly disappointed at myself and him.
