According to recent updates, they've been somewhat responding to community feedback and suggestions. Obviously there are some things they can't or wont change, but they're using the game as a testing ground for the next one now more than anything. They've since hired better heads and their experience might help them steer Halo on the right direction this next gen. That's being optimistic though. It's very likely they simply wont get it and we'll end up with another mediocre or poorly-orchestrated launch. This time though, I doubt there'll be people all over the forums complaining. 3 tries either makes the strike or the charm, and this is the last chance for Halo to redeem itself. EDIT: It looks like some of the lead people from Halo 4 are leaving. Corrinne Yu worked on the graphics/lighting engine and she just left for Naughty Dog. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out from here.

  • I wonder if they're going to make Halo 5 based off the Halo 4/Reach engine. I also don't even know if 343 could even build their own game engine, without outsourcing the shit out of it.

  • And at the same time, they've shown neglect and contempt towards the single player elements.

When was the last time they featured an easter egg drop in a bulletin? Why aren't they continuing A Different Way to Campaign? Why did they disable Theater and tell us they weren't able to implement it when it was possible? Why the incredibly lackluster and uncreative challenges and terrible XP payout for fulfilling aforementioned challenges? Why no Commendations for Campaign? Why make Spartan Ops online only? Why no Solo scaling for Spartan Ops? Why didn't they include skulls for Spartan Ops in the first place? Why no easter eggs in the cutscenes? They said Jul was in the Didact's awakening cinematic but he's clearly not there. What happened to Campaign Matchmaking? What happened to Campaign Scoring?

  • Gameplay perhaps, they've certainly shown potential for learning there, and imo were never all that bad with it in the first place......the story though, that's what I consider the real problem. They're not learning anything there and only continue making the same mistakes over and over again. The more releases they make the worse the story gets :/

  • The big problem with Halo 4's development was that 343 was building their team (for their first game, no less) as they went along for 3 years, the result was a chaotic production cycle and a number of features either having to be cut or unfinished. Now that they have a full compliment, I imagine that the developent for the next game will be a lot more structured and organised which will hopefully make for a better rounded game.
