WWII>all
War, not military conflicts, but actual warfare is when the economy improves. Yeah, FDR implemented the New Deal but how effective was it though? When WWII started for America we needed a large supply of troops, food, clothing, weapons, vehicles, and everything else needed to properly engage in war. The people displaced from the Great Depression found new job opportunities on the form as factory workers, farmers, and soldiers. When the war finally ended, people had large sums of money to spend on the now finished wartime rationing.
The economy is a living and breathing cycle of ups and downs. We will suffer from economic downfall but feel the rush of economic prosperity.
I happily like to help poor people in the form of donations, volunteer work, and giving a poor person a meal. And I'm a Christian that's conservative. One that feels that TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) has turned into PAGF (Permanent Assistance for Greedy Families)

Temporary implies that people are only temporary in the dumps. We have people who are born into those dumps and are riven bad parenting (no parenting for many kids), bad schooling, bad healthcare (usually no healthcare) and when they fail it's because they were lazy and didn't try hard enough.

Edited by IchEsseKinder: 8/7/2013 7:24:04 PMI think you're finally understanding where I'm getting. Welfare simply rewards those that are lazy and don't want to make an effort which continues the cycle when kids watch their parents do it. If you're going to accept government money then you should work to earn it as in maybe work to clean up the streets, work with DoT to repair roads, etc. I'm not against welfare but the way it has become is what I despise about it. Along with health care. My dad turned down WIC when the nurse brought out the paperwork when I was born. Now he's a college graduate, upper-middle class, great credit score, and a manager of a NAvy contractor; and he lived in the backwoods of Mississippi all his life. If you put your mind to it and inspire to be great and successful then you will.

Racism is probably the last thing that has helped the republicans out.

Quite effective actually, one thing it did do is that it started the economic recovery, something which the Hoover administration had troubling doing so, for various reasons. I remember writing a large post on it...
