Edited by Magical Robot: 8/4/2013 8:10:04 AMFeminism's name is an issue. It kinda suggests it favors the female population, rather than equality. Equalism is a better name, as it it does not take towards any one group.

Edited by Seggi: 8/4/2013 8:46:00 AMFeminism's called what it is because women have been historically marginalised and deprived of agency, and still are, to varying degrees, in modern society - and a wealth of academic knowledge, activism and community has been built around that. It's not about looking at one gender, it's about looking at the entire situation from the perspective of the oppressed.
