How to make trading/crafting stress-free

Disclaimer: This thread assumes the presence of a crafting system and auction-style trading system in Destiny. So back when I was playing WoW (those days are behind me) one thing was particularly annoying; Getting items for crafting. You'd have to open up your crafting tab, memorize the 18 character fantasy name of a piece of rock, then go and type it into the auction house tab and see if any matching items are available. Many MMORPG's have the same problem, but Destiny can fix this issue. Simply integrate the crafting "tab" with the auction/trading feature in Destiny, that way when you are browsing a list of ingredients for an assault rifle (let's say you need one "Titanium Barrel") and you don't have a Titanium Barrel, so you just activate a drop-down menu and it shows the best deals on Titanium Barrels in the auction house, or if Titanium Barrel is a sub-crafting item that you can make, it will also display the best deals on the ingredients to craft a Titanium Barrel from scratch. This is just a tiny feature, but it would make people more likely to buy stuff from other players, and save a lot of time for players who love crafting. (and have deep wallets) Furthermore, there needs to be an IP protection on auctions to keep people from using alts to bid up their items, that was a huge issue in WoW and I'm sure in many other MMO's as well. Any other ideas on how such features would be made better?

  • This is kind of random and should probably just start a new forum, but, because bungie controls all the servers for destiny, rather than having them split between different companies, the only was you could have cross-platform play would be if destiny had its own friends/social system. Regardless if you had an Xbox, and your friend a play station. People haven't realized... You won't be able to find your friends from the dashboard of your system, even if Xbox and Sony are all on the same servers. If the game had its own friends list, that bypassed what system your on, that would be the only way you could invite and play with your friends from different systems... Just a thought

    • I think combining the crafting and trading post into one menu with several tabs is an excellent idea, especially considering we don't have a keyboard!
