I have. Believe me, I have. But I'd like to think I'm in good shape, I'm a 3rd year, have an EMT license, good GPA, undergrad research, and now I just got to take the MCAT and make it through medical school... the tough part. Am I going to get into a top 10 or 20? Probably not as much as I would love to attend Pritzker, but as long as my MCAT score is well, Loyola is a safe bet.

  • I wasn't talking about getting into Medical School. The real fun starts afterwards, and by real fun I mean pure agony.

  • Medical School itself, or residency? I'm confident I can handle it, though any helpful tips are appreciated.

  • Residency blows. The problems is decreasing incomes, higher liability, crushing student debt, and an ever changing political climate that can devastate your practice based on the whims of the politicians.

  • So I hear, right now I also hear that there is a huge demand for rural physicians, and soon will be a large demand for the Geriatric population, but like you said who knows what it will be like in a few years. I know it will be rough, but you do what you got to do to have a career you will enjoy.
