I never expected that I would end up at Bungie. I was always interested in web development and did it for fun, all through high school and college. I didn't even study web development in college, it was just a hobby that I kept feeding and cultivating, and kept getting better at it that way. It's really important, if you want to do well in a field, to do more than just the minimum - you should be having fun with it in your free time, too.
For me, that really paid off. Everything I taught myself and learned through trial and error helped me get a job right out of college, and 18 months later, Bungie hired me. It's a fantastic job, and I have fun every single day. I know I'm working on something important; I know I'm directly influencing things and making things that millions of people will see and experience and love. It's a great goal to have! Edited by Miiji: 8/9/2013 11:33:05 AMHow's being a Bungie newb? How many times did the web master go to pee since you started working? Did you see Ling-Ling's head in the fridge to kill your appetite?
