Enough times for me to not really care about getting them. I've actually gotten a few phone calls in the past that were death threats. Don't remember what they were about, but i'd usually just hang up on them after I got bored of hearing it.

Never received personal phone calls before. I've once received one at work about how they were going to go in there and light the building on fire and hope I'm in there while it happens because he didn't like me telling him no about a TV he wanted to return (that he bought 8 years ago, we aren't costco.) *57 after getting all of his information. Needless to say, the guy got arrested and I laughed even though he was probably kidding about starting a fire.

Edited by Masque of Night: 7/20/2013 6:04:57 AMMeh, I wouldn't do that kind of thing unless they were threatening people that I care about. I don't care what someone says they'll do to me, I can ignore that, but I don't take risks with anyone i'm close to. I get even that a hint that they're a target, I stick around as frequently as possible, I get certain people I know on surveillance, I take every precaution possible, and alert the police if I get any solid piece of evidence that points to a serious threat. Although, I am highly paranoid...and carry three knives on me at any given time, when I wouldn't run into legal trouble by having them on me.

The only reason I called the police is that if I didn't, I would have lost my job. It's required of me in my position to take any and all threats seriously. Also my fiance worked there at the time and she was there. I wasn't afraid, just didn't want to lose her in the event that it actually happened.

Understandable, reasonable course of action at the time. To be honest, I find threats to be pointless and stupid. If you're going to do something, do it, don't announce it. You're just tipping off your target, risking legal trouble without achieving your desired objective, and making yourself look like an idiot if you don't follow through. If you do what you're planning without warning, there's none of that.
