It seems like people gave it a bunch of hate when it first launched, but how do you feel now that it's been a while?
I can't lie. When it first came out I was very thrown off. The gameplay felt slower and it took me a good amount of time to hone my skills at it. The armor abilities made the multiplayer less competitive, and that greatly contrasted with Halo 3's fast paced feel.
But...
Stricken with a mixture of boredom, curiosity, and nostalgia I decided to pop in Reach for the first time in a year or so the other day. I was stunned by how well the game had held up! The ridiculous amount of armor customization, the familiar maps, and great music all drew me back in. The vehicular battles are awesome to watch and take part in. The amount of gametypes is great. Not to mention the gametype customization.
I now see that Reach was a very community supportive game. All of the maps aren't really meant to support a hyper competitive atmosphere, but are designed to advocate large-scale fun.
Seeing all the features that were discontinued since then is sort of sad. Firefight, great infection variants, and even invasion would've made for great additions to Halo 4. For those of you that haven't played it in a while, I suggest you give it a shot. The community is still thriving!

Why is it so hard for some of you to comprehend that some of us actually liked Reach from the get go and still do?
-
Halo: Reach is better than 4.
-
Halo reach and.... Halo 3.. And halo 2 and in CE the magnum was OP.
-
I like Halo 4 and Reach.
-
Halo Reach is still an awful game, no matter how bad Halo 4 is.
-
The TU sucks. They just made the DMR and NR overpowered as hell by cutting down their bloom. In the non TU playlists I still have a lot of fun though.

1 ReplyI create a new map almost every week on REACH in Forge. Still love it......Plus Grif is WAY better on REACH
-
2 RepliesIt was bad then, it's still bad now.
-
Reach sucks, but 4 is worse.

Edited by Boomdeyadah: 7/16/2013 3:32:15 AMWould be perfect if melee bleed-through wasn't taken out literally a week after the TU launched.
-
I always liked it, although the TU was too little, too late.
-
2 RepliesStill the single crappiest Halo campaign ever made, but TU multiplayer is still great.
-
I loved it pre-TU, but played it again last night for the first time in a while. Had great fun and even re-watched my hilarious film clips.
-
Just finished playing it for a good 4/5 hours. Straight up Multi-Team with 2 friends. Had a blast.
-
I like it and always have.

I love Reach. I've always loved Reach. I think it's the best Halo game.

Reach still suffers from the same problems I criticized it for a few years ago. I still dislike it. When the game first launched it was great. Then playing it more I began to see more flaws. For a while I greatly disliked Reach, before assessing it again and disliking it less.

I don't think I'll ever like it.
