  • Normal. Defined as conforming to a standard; or being usual, typical, or expected. Studies by multiple organizations, many of them seeming to have an obvious bias, have put the percentage of gay persons between 1 and 10% of the population. We'll take the median with this and say 5%. I think the answer also depends on where you are. Say you live in the gay district in San Francisco. Well in that case I'd say it's about normal for the area. But say your a Buddhist monk and live in some temple on a top of a Mountain then it's probably not normal. Now lets change this and take gay completely about of the equation.Let's say 5 out of every 100 people have a third arm. Would you say this is normal? That would be equal to about 15.69 million Americans. Is that enough people to be considered normal? Would you consider having red hair normal? Only about 2% of Americans have red hair. That means that there is likely more gay people than red haired people. Does that make gays more normal than people with red hair? Really everything I just said is irrelevant because it's totally based on opinion. I would say that 5 out of 100 isn't normal. To bad their ins't an equation to help us find that 'normal' number.
