Dear conservative Christians...

I've always wondered, what exactly does hypocrisy on a daily basis feel like?

  • We never said we were going to cut them. We just want to make it harder for those who want to abuse the system. There is nothing wrong with WIC or EBT's, but there's a certain point to where its too easy to abuse the system and make it so the people rely on them when they dont need it. the system should be tailored to those who really need them instead of those who just want them. People need to do certain things to be able to receive EBT 1) pass a drug test 2) be searching for a job while on EBT/WIC 3) have proof that they are looking for one 4) Items need to be limited (not of quantity but of what they can get)

  • The bible asks that you help those people out of the goodness of your own heart, not because a government forces you to. Forced charity isn't charity. Also, there are some things that the government shouldn't get involved in. Don't get me wrong, the government should do some things to help the poor, but they shouldn't go waste tax dollars on failing or abused programs.

Did you know that the government spends 4 times the amount of money on poverty than it would take to bring every American above the poverty level? Christians are Republicans because they believe in charity, not forcible taxation of money to be wasted by the government. If you actually paid attention to how corrupt and greedy government organizations were, you might become a Republican. A private charity that was corrupt would get zero donations. A government redistribution program that's discovered to be wasting 75% of taxpayer funds would remain active because if a government official would push for the termination of that corrupt program, he would be labeled racist/greedy/poor-hating/and a horrible human being. Jesus didn't love doing his taxes.

        • Even though I'm not Republican, many Republicans don't like welfare because it is wasteful and many (MANY) people abuse it. They want to reform it so that the abuse can't take place, but Democrats love to paint a different picture to make Republicans out to be these terrible people who don't want to help the poor and hungry. Welfare was never meant to be lived on. It was meant to be a temporary substitute until you found a job. Many people live on it and they don't look for jobs at all. How is it bad to be against that?

          • May I begin by praising you on your excellent straw man? Anyways, you need to realize that conservatives don't disagree on helping the (truly) downtrodden. In fact, as you mentioned, right-wing Christians worship a lord that is centered around love and giving. That being said, you need to realize something key: Government social programs don't constitute as "giving". Considering these programs rely on tax dollars, citizens aren't at all giving -- they're simply being taken from. Giving is voluntary. Taxation is not voluntary. In the end, these blessed programs are run by a corrupt government that can't afford said level of liberalism.

          • There's a difference between people who lost everything due to economic crisis or whatever against those who do the bare minimum and take advantage of the system constantly. I don't mind my tax money helping the ones in need but if you just go every week to some police training exam, fail, get a paper signed saying you tried to get a job, and keep doing that to get free money then you need it taken away. I know such because my dad who retired from the Navy went to apply for the police department and saw it happen. The cops there said it's perfectly legal and nothing they can do about it. Oh, there's also a difference in using government assistance to take off the load a bit instead of sitting around and using that to support yourself and drug habits. It really nags me to see people pull of WIC or food stamps while on their shiny new iPhone chatting it up with home girl about the new $175 shoes she's getting.

              • This picture is one of lamest examples a liberal can use. Jesus taught people to give out of their own good will, he never forced charity on people. Welfare and food stamps are forced charity. I have no problem donating to the Red Cross or my local food bank, out of the goodness of my heart not the government telling me to do so.

The New Road to Serfdom? 1. Create massive welfare and entitlement programs that help create economic equality and growth without precedent, funded largely by the most affluent members of society and corporate gains. 2. Over time through political maneuvering and social engineering, move the burden of rising program costs to a middle class that soon cannot afford the costs of governance and welfare. 3. Force the middle class into increased public and private debt through wonton governmental borrowing, inflationary monetary policies reliant on centralized banking mechanics and a fiat financial sector with decreasing regulatory oversight and accountability. Tis the oldest trick in the book.

The funny thing is that adult Republican Christians donate more to good causes than any of you poor hippy teenager liberals. I donate to good causes all the time and I'm not even living the high life. My girlfriend used to go on mission trips every summer to places like Mexico, Africa, etc. She and her group bought everybody new furniture, computers, all kinds of stuff, and in the end they had just a bit of extra money to buy everybody steak dinners. (on their trip to Juarez) You guys just sit here on b.net doing nothing, pretending like you're better people than Republicans or something, when you all are actually huge wastes of space. Please tell me more about how your 12-17 year old ass is benefiting society and how you're such a good person. All those programs are a waste of money, people who don't need them use them instead of finding good jobs, and they abuse them. You liberals actually think you're good people for supporting causes that you have no idea what effects they have on society. Instead of programs that just give people money, what about programs that help people find jobs? I would be in support of that. Hell I'm 19 years old, I found a job that pays 500 bucks a week in literally less than a week. I don't even have a shitty degree in psychology or arts like the rest of you liberal losers!

                    • Those programs they are planning to cut are less efficient than the programs that were founded by Christian organizations.
