Or, he could've faked being straight. Why do people purposely make others dislike them, then act surprised when others show their dislike?

Assuming your position is genuine, even though I doubt it, I still will address it since it can possibly inform others. 1. Telling someone to stay in the closet is never a satisfactory position. There is nothing wrong with being gay so people shouldn't be ashamed of themselves to the point where they hid. The problem is with the people that have a problem with gay people, not the people that are gay. 2. If someone dislikes you for being gay, then they are the ones that are -blam!-ed up. The gay person shouldn't have to act in such a way to appease the homophobe. It is no different than telling how an African-American should act around a racist person to make sure he isn't disliked even more by racist person. 3. What if the gay person wants to start dating? Dating while in the closet is like trying to sell a Fuji apple in a basket of Royal Gala apples without any stickers distinguishing them from each other.

His being openly gay is CAUSING the problem. He is KNOWINGLY causing the problem. If he didn't cause the problem, there wouldn't be a problem. And you're acting like it's impossible to hide a relationship from parents -_- You're trying to fix a problem after it happens, instead of preventing it.

I would say the parents' bigotry is the problem since there is nothing wrong with being gay. If the parents weren't bigots, there wouldn't be any problems. If you fail to understand that, I am done arguing with you since your position is too absurd to be taken seriously. Besides your position is pretty much idiotic victim blaming.

  • The parent's bigotry is the problem, yes. But, the kid is still causing the problem. And I'm not for victim blaming, unless the victim openly makes themselves a target. That's like putting a sign outside your house you don't own a security system, don't own a gun, and rely on the police to protect you, and them the person complains their house got broken into.
